Inspiration - From the "Writer's" Side of Life (continued)

Or, how about this: Imagine yourself lost in a deep, restful sleep. Suddenly, you jerk upright in bed. It’s the dang hero this time! “Are you nuts?” he wants to know. “I never would have said anything that corny. That dialogue is an embarrassment to both of us.” The one eye you manage to get open glances at your bedside clock. Roosters would even laugh in this guy’s face at such a ridiculous hour. But you know he’s right. You knew the dialogue sucked when you went to bed. Your husband grunts when you turn back the covers. You stumble from your bed with a yawn (the hero marching right along behind you) and head back to your computer.
Inspiration? Or, borderline insanity? Maybe a little of both.
Some writers do use music, exercise, even meditation to help open their inspiration channels. And then there are writers like me, whose inspiration to write that next book just happens to them - from the writer side of life. But one thing I’d like to point out, is that YOU, the reader, are the most important part of the entire writing process.
Without your faithful support. Without you buying our books. Without you letting us know that you’re looking forward to reading what we write next, our inspiration would be nothing more than a spark that fizzled out because it had no purpose.
And where would that leave me? Sitting on my sofa, minding my own business.
THANK YOU, dear readers - for keeping this writer’s spark happily unfizzled.
